Brothers for the River

On August 26, 2006, Joe and Ben Palmquist will paddle out of Lake Itasca, the headwaters of the Mississippi River, with hopes of becoming Brothers for the River. Over the ensuing three months, we will travel all 2,552 miles of the Mississippi River by canoe in hopes of bringing awareness to the critical issues that face the river today. We will spread our message through this website, our blog, media coverage, and talking to as many people as possible along our trip.

T-minus 24hrs!

After roughly 12 hours of packing and re-packing last night, we finally can fit everything into the canoe! (This means that we got next to no sleep) Left: Pictures at the starting line of the First Annual Mississippi River Beard Growing Championship. Place your bets!
