Day 4: 8/30/06

Today we took off from Tamarack Point around 9ish and headed toward The Winnie Dam Recreation Center, where a 300 yard portage awaited us. As we portaged across, we ran into a couple of guys that we had seen in the previous days, so we said hello, Joe gave them our card and we continued on our way. After the dam, the river continued meandering its way south southeast. We ran into our usual friends like the Blue Heron, Kingfisher, Eagles, and Cormorants. We also saw a couple Otters, and some turtles. To the left is a home of the Beaver that we have seen continuously on our trek down the river. We ended our day at Gambler's Point, putting 23 more miles of the river behind us, we had some Zataran's Rice to recharge and went to bed.
