Day 5: 8/31/06
At 7:15 we took off from Gambler's Point, marking our earliest departure yet. We continued our winding path down the Miss, facing a strong south southeast wind. We continue to build our paddling muscles with new challenges like this wind. We ended our day 25 miles later in Cohasset where we re-entered civilization to update this blog and resupply.

Hi Joe. Sunny just told me your adventure to the river. It sounds very crazy but fun to me. I will keep checking your web site for update. Jan
Hey guys, I finally got that trolling motor you guys were asking about... and don't worry, I'll keep it on the down low.
Just kidding... good luck.
Hey Joe and Ben! Thinking about you everyday! Sounds like you are making great progress. The photos are so good to see - not much hair on those faces yet, though. :-)
Love to you both, Cathy
Joe,
We check your site every morning and those photos are great. Be sure to call us when you're near the Washington bridge. We'll lower some "surprises" (using few hundred feet/yard of twine) to cheer for you guys.

Hey, your blog is awesome and we are so happy to be able to SEE you and to be in touch, in a way.
Tom, Kathryn and I have just read your notes of your travels so far and we are mucho proud of you and muy excited for you.
It's been raining here most of the day, so of course we're praying that you're not getting drenched.
Next weekend, Tom and I are wondering if we can find you, treat you to dinner and a motel/hotel room. We'll follow your notes and see if it will work out...Libby (by Big Sandy),Aitkin, Crosby???
