Day 6: 9/1/06

Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the liquid blue road. We couldn't resist this photo op with Dorothy on our way through Judy Garland's hometown, Grand Rapids, MN (top). We look more excited to be there than she does. Maybe she's sad because she's 10 feet tall? Too bad we didn't have time to check out the Judy Garland Museum. Maybe next time.

Joe points to ginormous log piles ready to be turned into paper (middle). Roughly 410,000 metric tons of paper are made annually at the Blandin Paper Mill alone. We remind you to Reduce, Reuse, and RECYCLE!!

Ben takes a break while portaging around the mill (bottom). This is the longest portage of our trip at nearly 3/4 a mile long. It would make even the voyageurs proud!
