Day 8: 9/3/06

As we made it further south we started running into cattle land, and with that a new negative impact on the river. Poor cattle and land management, with little to no buffer zone (vegetation) leads to added sediment and nutrient load in the river. Above Ben gives his disapproval.

At the end of day 8 we arrived at an appropriately named campsite "Ms. Keto" it was the nicest campsite thus far on the trip, aside from a muddy entry way. As day 8 ended Joe felt obliged to show some of the beauty contained in the Mississippi.

At "Ms. Keto" we relaxed a bit and put some bluegrass on the ole' radio. Joe does his best to keep up with the mandolin from the band Trampled by Turtles.
