Day 13: 9/8/06

We woke up this morning with the temp outside down to the upper 30s. Ben becomes sleeping bag-mummified overnight.
At this rate, we'll be waking up with frost covering our tents instead of dew. We decide we must paddle faster.

On August 26, 2006, Joe and Ben Palmquist will paddle out of Lake Itasca, the headwaters of the Mississippi River, with hopes of becoming Brothers for the River. Over the ensuing three months, we will travel all 2,552 miles of the Mississippi River by canoe in hopes of bringing awareness to the critical issues that face the river today. We will spread our message through this website, our blog, media coverage, and talking to as many people as possible along our trip.

It is only day 13 and you have gone cynical. Prairie Lion? Come on. Everyone knows that is a Felineosaurus Rex. And you guys act like you know nature.
